Most servers wipe the map every few months. Hydro's Forever World has no reset date. It only ends if the community votes for it, and even then the world is archived for download.
If you've played on public SMPs, you know the cycle. Everyone rushes the first two weeks, the economy breaks, people drift off, and three months later the map is wiped. Big projects never feel worth starting.
Hydro started as a long-term server in 2018 and went fully "Forever World" with Season 13 on 11 July 2025. There's no countdown. Staff never reset the map on their own; a new season only happens when the community collectively decides it's time.
A long-running world doesn't mean you're behind. New players join every week, the world is huge, and there's always unclaimed land a short flight from spawn. Established members are used to helping newcomers with shulkers, elytra and directions to the nether hub.
Updates still happen: the server follows new Minecraft versions, so new terrain generates in unexplored chunks while the builds you care about stay exactly where they are.
Only if the community votes for it. There is no planned end date, and staff do not reset the world on their own.
Every season is archived, and the world file is released for download, so your builds are never lost. Past seasons back to 2018 can be browsed at archive.hydrovanillasmp.com.
The server updates to new Minecraft versions in place. New features generate in chunks nobody has explored yet, and existing builds are untouched.
No. New players are accepted every week, there's plenty of open land, and long-term members are used to helping newcomers get started.
Applications take a couple of minutes, and a staff member reads every one, usually within a day. You must be 18 or older.
